This improved version of the Offset command offers many advantages, including layer control, undo functionality, and multiple options.

PROCEDURE:

1. Do one of the following:
   • Choose Express > Modify > Extended Offset.
   • Type EXOFFSET and press Enter.
2. Click two points or enter the distance and press Enter to define the offset.
3. Select Option and press Enter to access the advanced options.
4. Select one of the following options and press Enter:
   • Distance reset the distance for the offset. Click two points or enter the distance, and press Enter to define the offset.
   • Layer specifies the layer for the new objects. Digit one of the following options:
   • Source: place the new entities on the same layer of the reference entities.
   • Current: places the new entities on the current layer.
   • Gaptype Sets and changes the offset mode controlled by the variable OFFSETGAPTYPE.
5. Press Enter to return to the main options menu.
6. Select the entities for which you want to create the offset.
7. You can type one of the following options and press Enter to change the input mode:
   • Multiple allows multiple offsets to be created from the same selected entity.
   • Option returns to the options configuration described above .
   • Undo deletes the last change.
8. Specify, by clicking with the mouse, the side on which the new entities will be created.
9. Press Enter to end the command.
