Saves a block, entire drawing, or entities to a separate drawing file on disk. You can insert a block that has been saved to disk into other drawings.

DIALOG BOX OPTIONS

Source Select what content to save to a separate drawing file. If Block, select the block to save to a separate drawing file from the list that becomes available. If Entire drawing, the current drawing will be saved to a separate drawing file. If Entities, the Base Point and Entities options become available.

Select Point Click to select in the current drawing the x,y,z coordinates of the base point to save with the separate drawing file. Or, you can enter the x,y,z coordinates of the base point.

Select Entities Click to select in the current drawing the entities to save to a separate drawing file. If no entities are selected, a separate drawing file is not created.

Select what action to take with selected entities in the current drawing after the separate drawing file is created:

  • Retain — Keeps the selected source entities in the current drawing.
  • Convert to block — Converts the selected source entities to a block in the current drawing.
  • Delete from drawing — Deletes the selected source entities from the current drawing.

The number of entities currently selected displays below the options.

File Name and Path Enter the path and filename of the new drawing file, or click [...] to browse to it.

Insert Units Select the insertion units for the new drawing file.
