Enclose Text with Shape

Draws a frame around each selected single-line text, multiline text or attribute definition. You can create frames in the shape of a circle, a rectangle or a slot (an oval with two parallel sides).

Frame sizes can be constant or variable. If you want to enclose single-line text, multiline text and attribute definitions within shapes that are the same size, choose Constant. The largest possible frame will be applied to each selected text entity. Choose Variable to fit the frame to each selected text entity according to the distance offset factor you specify.

FILter/<Select entities>: Select single-line text, multiline text or attribute definitions, and press Enter.

Enter distance offset factor: Specify the scaling factor for setting the offset distance of the frame.

To draw a circle around text

Enclose text with [Circles/Slots/Rectangles]: Choose Circles.

Create circles of constant or variable size [Constant/Variable]: Choose Constant to enclose each selected text entity with circles of the same diameter. Or choose Variable to draw circles with varied diameters.

To draw a slot around text

Enclose text with [Circles/Slots/Rectangles]: Choose Slots.

Create slots of constant or variable size [Constant/Variable]: Choose Constant to draw slots with constant dimensions. Choose Variable to draw slots with varied width and height.

Maintain constant slot [Width/Height/Both]: Choose which dimension should be held constant: width, or height, or both width and height (displays if Constant is chosen).

To draw a rectangle around text

Enclose text with [Circles/Slots/Rectangles]: Choose Rectangles.

Create rectangles of constant or variable size [Constant/Variable]: Choose Constant to draw rectangles with constant dimensions. Choose Variable to draw rectangles with varied dimensions.

Maintain constant rectangle [Width/Height/Both]: Choose which dimension should be held constant: width, or height, or both width and height (displays if Constant is chosen).
