Draws an arc. You can draw an arc using different combinations of the following options:
- Start point Specify the start point of the arc.
- Center point Specify the center of the implied circle that defines the arc.
- End point Specify the end point of the arc.
- Angle Specify the included angle of the arc.
- Radius Specify the radius of the implied circle that defines the arc. This option can be used in combination with Start Point and End Point, and Start Point and Angle.
- Length of chord Specify the distance of a straight line between the start point and end point. This option can be used in combination with Start Point and Center Point.
- Direction Specify the direction that will be used as a tangent for the arc and is determined from its start point. This option can be used in combination with Start Point and End Point.
If you have not drawn an entity in this session, the command starts with the following prompt:
Center <Start of arc>: To draw an arc using the default method, select a start point. To specify the center point of the arc, choose Center.
If you have drawn an entity in this session, the command starts with the following prompt:
ENTER to use last point Center Follow <Start of arc>: To start an arc, specify a point as its starting point, the default. To use the last point drawn as the start point for the arc, press Enter. To specify the center point of the arc, choose Center. To draw a new arc using the previous entity's endpoint as the starting point, choose Follow. The new arc will be tangent to the previous entity.
NOTE After you press Enter, the Arc command uses the x,y,z-coordinates stored in the LASTPOINT system variable. The Follow option uses the angle stored in the LASTANGLE system variable.
