IGES importation (.igs and .iges)

Ribbon: Insert > Import > Import IGES file ()

Menu: Insert > Import IGES file

Toolbar: Insert > Import IGES file

Keyboard: IGESIN

This function allows to import files in Iges / Igs format.
Please note that the process may take some minutes and it runs in background. During the conversion process you can normally use progeCAD, only after conversion ends you can insert in the current drawing the converted Step project.
The objects are inserted in the original coordinates, it could be necessary to perform a Extension Zoom to see the position of the inserted geometries.

PROCEDURE:

  • Run the Step Importation function
  • Select the IGES file, and press OPEN
  • A message related the background process is shown, you need only to press OK button (you can proceed with all normal CAD functions during the background process)
  • Now a new dedicated icon is available in the StatusBar .
If you perform a double click on this icon when the process is running, will be showed a message with the files list. Instead if the procedure is already ended the converted geometry will be inserted in the current drawing.

Note you can insert the objects, after the conversation ends, also through the "Events Log" dialog, that you can open by clicking on the latest StatusBar icon.
