Understanding dynamic and static hiding, shading, and rendering

progeCAD includes two ways to hide, shade, and render drawings, each with its own advantages:

Dynamic visual styles Drawings display a hidden-line, shadowed, or rendered view in real time while you draw and edit. You can add materials, lights, and a background to the drawing, and their effects also display dynamically. Visual styles are based on the OpenGL and OpenGL ES graphics devices.

Static images Static hidden-line, shadowed, and rendered images are created for the current view. While not dynamic, you can create static images using more options than visual styles, such as sun shadows, reflections, refactoring, and the ability to edit materials. Static images are based on DaVinci rendering.
