Keyboard: OVERKILL (or -OVERKILL to run command line version)

Deletes or combines duplicate or overlapping entities in the drawing, reducing the drawing's file size and complexity.

Select entities: Select the arc, line, or polyline that you want to check for duplicates in the drawing, and then press Enter. The Overkill Settings dialog box opens that allows you to determine how lines, arcs and polylines are treated when the OVERKILL command is executed.

DIALOG BOX OPTIONS

Tolerance Enter the precision with which to make comparisons and entity conversions. For comparisons, the tolerance indicates the distance that entities can be within and still be considered overlapping or duplicate entities. For entity conversions, the tolerance indicates how much the resulting entities can differ from the original ones. (This setting controls the OVERKILLTOLERANCE system variable.)

Ignore Entity Property Mark one or more properties that you want to ignore during comparison:

• Color
• Layer
• Linetype
• Linetype Scale
• Lineweight
• Thickness
• Transparency
• Print Style
• Material

Combine Co-linear Entities That Partially Overlap Mark to combine overlapping entities into a single entity.

Combine Co-linear Entities When Aligned End to End Mark to combine co-linear entities (lines or arcs) that have common endpoints into a single entity.

Combine Adjacent Lines and Arcs into Polylines Mark to combine lines and arcs that have common endpoints into polylines.

Optimize Segments Within Polylines Mark to examine individual lines and arc segments within selected polylines. If duplicating vertices and segments are found, they are deleted. If co-linear segments are found, they are combined into one segment.

Convert adjacent line segments into arcs Check to convert adjacent line segments into arcs. This option is available only if you enable Optimize Segments Within Polylines.

Arc Chord Tolerance Enter the tolerance that the arc chord must be within from the original line segments when the arc is created. (This setting controls the OVERKILLTOLARCCHORD system variable.)

Arc Endpoints Tolerance Enter the tolerance that a line endpoint must be within from the possible arc chord when the arc is created. (This setting controls the OVERKILLTOLARCENDPOINT system variable.)

Maintain Associative Entities Mark to keep associative entities unchanged.

NOTE All check boxes in the dialog box are also controlled by the OVERKILLMODE system variable.
