Converts a closed entity into a two-dimensional region. After you create a region, you can use many three-dimensional tools to complete your work. For example, you can create a region from a square, and then extrude the square to create a three-dimensional cube. Or you can use the Union, Subtract, or Intersect commands to create a more complex region.

Select entities: Select an entity that you want to convert to a region. You can select closed entities such as polylines, polygons, circles, ellipses, closed splines, and donuts. You can also select open entities such as lines and arcs, if they have common endpoints and they form a closed area.

NOTE The DELOBJ system variable determines whether the original entities are deleted or retained after the Region command is completed.

TIP To create a region from a closed planar entity you can also use the Boundary command.
