Publishes a sheet list. A sheet list is a collection of sheets, where each sheet references a layout, which can be model space or a paper space layout from any drawing.

Sheets print to a .pdf, .dwf, or .dwfx file or to the printer defined in the page setup assigned to each layout. If a layout has no page setup assigned, the sheet prints using the print options saved with the layout in the Print dialog box using Apply to Layout.

DIALOG BOX OPTIONS

Sheet list Select a sheet list to publish. The list displays names of sheet lists (.dsd files) that have been previously loaded.

Open Click to select an existing sheet list (.dsd file) and add it to the list.

Save Click to save the current list of layouts as a sheet list (.dsd file).

Publish to Select how to publish the list of sheets. You can publish to the printer specified in the page setup (a paper drawing set or a set of plot files), to a .pdf, .dwf or .dwfx file.

Set as Default Click if you regularly publish to the format selected in Publish To and want to set it as the default.

PDF Preset Choose a predefined printer configuration (*.pc3) file to use for publishing. A PDF preset contains settings preconfigured to create .pdf files for a specific purpose. Available only when publishing to .pdf.

Load Select which drawing files to include when adding sheets automatically the next time the dialog box opens:

  • All open drawings Includes the model and/or layout tabs of all open drawings.
  • Current drawing Includes the model and/or layout tabs of the current drawing only.
  • Empty sheet list Includes no drawings (the sheet list is empty).

Include Select whether you want to add sheets automatically for a model tab only, layout tabs only, or for both model and layout tabs the next time the dialog box opens.

Add Click to open the Add Sheets dialog box and select additional layouts and models you want to add as sheets. You can also press Insert while a sheet is selected in the list or drag drawing files from the Windows Explorer window and drop them in the list.

Remove Click to delete the selected sheet from the list. You can also press Delete to delete the selected sheet from the list.

Edit Click to open the Page Setup Manager dialog box and modify page setup settings. You can also double-click a sheet to open the dialog box. The page setups that display in the dialog box depend on whether a model or layout sheet is currently selected.

Move Up Click to move the currently selected sheet up one position. Sheets are published in the order in which they display.

Move Down Click to move the currently selected sheet down one position. Sheets are published in the order in which they display.

Reverse Click to reverse the order of sheets. Sheets are published in the order in which they display.

Publish Options Information Displays details about the current publish settings. Click [...] to change the destination publish folder.

Publish Options Click to set options for publishing to a file. If PDF is selected in Publish To, the PDF Publish Options dialog box opens; if DWF or DWFx is selected, the DWF Publish Options dialog box opens. Not available when publishing to Printer named in page setup.

Sheet Name Displays the name of each sheet to be published including the following information for each sheet:

  • Page Setup Displays the page setup assigned to the sheet. Select the page setup you want to assign to sheets when published. The page setup you select for a sheet is assigned to all other selected sheets if they have the same type (for a model or layout) and are located in the same drawing. Choose Import to import page setups from a different file, or choose Page Setup Manager to manage page setups.
  • Layer State Displays the list of layer states available in the drawing. Select the layer state you want to assign to sheets when published. The layer state you select for a sheet is assigned to all other selected sheets if they are in the same drawing. Choose Layer States Manager to modify and create layer states.
  • Status Displays the status of the sheet. If No Errors, the sheet is ready for publishing. If Layout Not Initialized, the sheets layout is not assigned a valid printer. If the sheet is assigned a page setup, choose File > Page Setup and specify a valid printer for the page setup. If no page setup is assigned, open the source drawing file, click the referenced Model or Layout tab, choose File > Print, specify a printer, then click Apply to Layout.

Selected Sheet Details Displays details of the selected sheet.

Number of Copies Enter or select the number of copies to publish. Not available when publishing to PDF or DWF/DWFx.

Include Print Stamp Select to include a header and footer with the published sheets. When marked, click () to modify the text of the print stamp in the Print Stamp Settings dialog box. Not available when publishing to DWF/DWFx.

Publish in Background Select to publish in the background of other tasks being performed by the computer. Not available when publishing to PDF or DWF/DWFx.
