Convert PDF to DXF

Now it's also possible to covert a PDF file into a DXF. This type of conversion allows its handling in progeCAD dealing with it as with any other drawing by the conventional tools.

To convert a PDF file into DXF
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose File > Convert PDF to DXF.
  3. Choose AddOn> Convert PDF to DXF.
  4. Type pdf2cad, and then press Enter.
  5. In the dialog Pdf2CAD click Browse button.
  6. From the window Open specify the PDF file to be converted in DXF and click on the Open button.
    It will be automatically proposed in the box Destination the name of the generated DXF file comprehensive of path.

NOTE The definitive path in which gets generated the DXF file is the same one of the original PDF. Also the name of the file is the same as the PDF one, with the exception of the extension that in this case will be *.dxf.

  1. Specify the settings desired for:
  2. Min. Line Width.
  3. Dashed Line as segments.
  4. Fill.
  5. Click on the Convert button.
    At the end of the conversion procedure, the resulting drawing will be automatically opened in progeCAD.
  6. ATTENTION If the original PDF file doesn't contain vectorial information, the result will be a DXF with some attached raster images. The most common example of that result is a PDF made by the scanning of an image.
