Modifying entities - Express

Tools/Entity Data

The ability to create and modify the data of the extended entities has been originally implemented for the application developed by third parties and it required the presence of an external application to place the extended data on certain entities.
This function is also available to the progeCAD user by an extended entities editor with a graphic interface.
In this contest the term "Application" refers to a key or an index by which can be referred or modified the data of the extended entity.

Create or edit entity data
To create or edit entity data
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Tools > Entity Data > Create or Edit Entity Data.
  3. Type editedata and press Enter key.
  4. Select an entity to create or edit the entities database.
    It will be displayed the mask Create or Edit Entity Data.

ATTENTION Before entering any data must be present the name of an application.

  1. To create the name of an application click on the button Insert, then choose from list Application Name.
    An item with the name of default Application in edit mode will be displayed on the list, then digit the name for the application and press Enter.
  2. After having created an application name or having chosen an existing one, it's possible to insert the other data. Click on the Insert button, and then choose one the type of datum available.
  3. To edit an existing data:
  4. Select the data from the list and press Edit.
  5. Digit a new value and press Enter.
  6. To delete an existing data, select it from the list and click on Delete.
  7. To confirm the modifications click on OK.
Copy entity data
To copy entity data
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Tools > Entity Data > Copy Entity Data.
  3. Type copyedata and press Enter key.
  4. Type the application name and press Enter key.

NOTE To display the name of the applications available digit ? and press Enter.

  1. Select the entity from which copy the data.
  2. Select the entity for the destination data.
  3. NOTE If one of the entities of destination already contains the definition of the same application, it will be asked if replacing or no replacing the existing data.
Move entity data
To move the entity data
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Tools > Entity Data > Move Entity Data.
  3. Type moveedata and press Enter key.
  4. Type the application data and press Enter key.

NOTE To display the name of the available applications digit ? and press Enter.

  1. Select the entity from which move the data.
  2. Select the entity for the destination data.
  3. NOTE If one of the entities of destination already contains the definition of the same application, it will be asked if replacing or no replacing the existing data.
Delete entity data
To delete the entity data
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Tools > Entity Data > Delete Entity Data.
  3. Type deledata and press Enter key.
  4. Type the application name and press Enter.

NOTE To display the name of the available applications digit ? and press Enter.

  1. Select the entities from which delete the data and press Enter.
Reassociate entity data
To reassociate the data merged with an application with another application
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Tools > Entity Data > Reassociate Entity Data.
  3. Type reassocapp and press Enter key.
  4. Digit in the box Original Application and Reassociate Entity Data with, the original application name and the application name by which the entity is being merging.
  5. Select the box Replace original data with new data for duplicate variables in order to restore the data in the original application with the data of the new merged application.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Select the entity to reassociate the data with the new application.
  8. Select the entities that will have to be reassociate with the new application and press Enter.
