Modifying entities - Express

Layer

Layer is an additional tool for quick working with entities and layers.

 

Set layer
  1. Set an entity layer as current.
To set an entity layer as current
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Set layer.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Setlayer tool (
  4. ).
  • Type SLA and then press Enter.
  • Set the current layer to that of the selected entity.
Change to current layer
  1. Set the current layer for the selected entities.
To set the current layer for the selected entities
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Change to current layer.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Chgtocurrentlayer tool (
  4. ).
  • Type CCL and then press ENTER key.
  • Select the entities to set in the current layer.
  • Press ENTER key or right mouse button.
Move to layer
  1. Move some entities on another entity's layer.
To move some entities on another entity's layer
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Move to layer.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Movetolayer tool (
  4. ).
  • Type MTL and then press ENTER key.
  • Select the entities to move on a new layer.
  • Press ENTER key or right mouse button.
  • Select an entity on a layer to set for the previous ones.
New layer
  1. Move some entities on new layer.
To move some entities on new layer
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > New layer.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Newlayer tool (
  4. ).
  • Type NLA and then press ENTER key.
  • Select the entities to move on a new layer.
  • Type the new layer name and press ENTER key or the right mouse button to confirm.
  • If the layer doesn't exist, you can choose if you want to create a new one. The new layer will be set for the previous selected entities.
  • If the layer exist, it will be set for the previous selected entities.
Isolate layer
  1. Set all layer to OFF except the selected entity layer.
To set all layer to OFF except the selected entity layer
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Isolate layer.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Isolatelayer tool (
  4. ).
  • Type ILA and then press ENTER key.
  • Select the entity to isolate.
  • Press ENTER key or right mouse button.
Freeze layer
  1. Freeze a selected entity layer.
To freeze a selected entity layer
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Freeze layer.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Freezlayer tool (
  4. ).
  • Type FLA and then press ENTER key.
  • Select the entity which layer will be frozen.
To set off a selected layer
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Layer Off.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Layer Off tool (
  4. ).
  • Type ola and then press enter.
  • Pick entity on the layer you want turned off.
Multiple freeze layer
  1. Freeze all layer of the selected entities.
To freeze all layer of the selected entities
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Multiple freeze layer.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Multiplefreeze tool (
  4. ).
  • Type MLF and then press ENTER key.
  • Select the entities whose layers will be frozen.
  • Press ENTER key or right mouse button.
Lock layer
  1. Lock a selected entity layer.
To lock a selected entity layer
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Lock layer.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Locklayer tool (
  4. ).
  • Type LLA and then press ENTER key.
  • Select the entity whose layer will be locked.
Unlock layer
  1. UnLock a selected entity layer.
To unlock a selected entity layer
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Unlock layer.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Unlocklayer tool (
  4. ).
  • Type ULA and then press ENTER key.
  • Select the entity whose layer will be unlocked.
Set on all layers
To set all layers On
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Set on all layers.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click On All tool (
  4. ).
  • Type ON and then press ENTER key.
Set off all layers
To set all layers Off
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Set off all layers.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Off All tool (
  4. ).
  • Type OFF and then press ENTER key.
Thaw all layers
To thaw all layers
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Thaw all layers.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Thaw All tool (
  4. ).
  • Type THAW and then press ENTER key.
Freeze all layers
To freeze all layers
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Freeze all layers.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Freeze All tool (
  4. ).
  • Type FREEZE and then press ENTER key.
Unlock all layers
To unlock all layers
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Unlock all layers.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Unlock All tool (
  4. ).
  • Type UNLOCK and then press ENTER key.
Lock all layers
To lock all layers
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Lock all layers.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Lock All tool (
  4. ).
  • Type LOCK and then press ENTER key.
Clone entity
  1. Copy one or more entities on another layer.
To copy one or more entities on another layer
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Clone entity.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Clone tool (
  4. ).
  • Type CLONE and then press ENTER key.
  • Select one or more entities to clone.
  • Press ENTER key or right mouse button.
  • Type the layer name.
  • If the layer doesn't exist, you can choose if you want to create a new one. The new layer will be created and the entities will be cloned.
  • If the layer exist, it will be cloned the previous selected entities.
Copy to layer
  1. Copy one or more entities on a selected entity's layer.
To copy one or more entities on a selected entity's layer
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose Express > Layer > Copy to layer.
  3. On the Express Tool:Layer toolbar, click Copytolayer tool (
  4. ).
  • Type CTL and then press ENTER key.
  • Select one or more entities to be copied on a layer.
  • Press ENTER key or right mouse button.
  • Select an entity on whose layer the entities will be copied.
