Viewing your drawing - Moving around within a drawing

Specify the pan displacement point either by typing the coordinates or by specifying a point in the drawing window.

Select the pan base point ( A ), and then select a second point ( B ) to specify the pan displacement.

To pan in real time
  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Choose View > Pan > Real-Time Pan.
  3. On the Standard or 3D Orbit toolbar, click the Real-Time Pan tool (
  4. ).
  • Type rtpan and then press Enter.
  • Click and hold the left mouse button.
  • Move the cursor in the direction you want to pan.
  • To stop panning, release the mouse button.
  • TIP Hold down the right mouse button while simultaneously pressing and holding Ctrl + Shift to pan in real-time.
  1. NOTE If you are working with a large drawing file, it may be helpful to set the RTSKIPCOUNT system variable to a higher number to reduce the number of entities that display. For example, if the value is set to 10, only the 10th entity will display when panning and rotating in real-time.
To pan using a mouse with a wheel
Press and hold the wheel, and then move the mouse in the direction you want to pan. (The MBUTTONPAN system variable controls this feature.)
