Sending a drawing through e-mail
Sending a drawing through e-mail
You can send an progeCAD drawing to another user via e-mail. progeCAD is compatible with e-mail programs that support the Messaging Application Program Interface (MAPI) protocol.
To include a drawing file in an e-mail message
1 While the drawing file is open, do one of the following:
On the ribbon, choose the Application button then Publish > Send Mail.
On the menu, choose File > Send Mail.
Type mail and then press Enter.
If your mail program is not already running, it starts; a new e-mail message containing the progeCAD icon and file name appears.
2 Address the e-mail, type a message, and send the e-mail message as you would any other message.
To view an progeCAD file sent by e-mail
Open the e-mail message, and then double-click the progeCAD icon.
progeCAD software must be installed on the computer used to open drawings from e-mail.
Use the eTransmit command for e-mail if the drawing has supporting files.
If the drawing is dependent on files such as external references or font files, use the eTransmit command to combine the files in a single package and send it by e-mail. When creating the package, use a transmittal setup with the Send Mail with Transmittal option turned on. For more details, see Packaging drawings and files for use on another computer.
